Thank you for this important article, Elizabeth. The cases that you shared really resonated with me. I have been through many of the things you describe as a (youngish) transwoman, and this led to me having an extended stay in a secure psychiatric unit earlier this year due to my intense suicidality.
The current climate, and the structural violence that you describe, has real, severe costs in my community. Thank you for shedding light on this and for your allyship. 🙂
